Some marine service platforms send you jobs and keep a share of each one. DockWrench works differently.
| DockWrench | Commission platforms | |
|---|---|---|
| What it costs you | One flat monthly fee: $49, $99 or $199 | A percentage of every job you do |
| Who sets your rates | You do | Usually the platform |
| Who pays you | The customer pays you directly | The platform collects, then pays you your share |
| Whose customer it is | Yours: name, number and repeat work | Repeat bookings often go back through the platform |

DockWrench was born out of a frustration every boat owner knows too well β you can't fix it yourself, and finding a qualified marine mechanic feels impossible.
James grew up with a deep passion for boats and the water. From an early age, boating wasn't just a hobby β it was a way of life.
Like most boat owners, James would try to fix things himself first. Torn apart bilge pumps, YouTube tutorials at midnight, wrong parts ordered twice. But when the job was too big, the next step was always the same β an hours-long search for a marine technician who actually picked up the phone, showed up on time, and knew what they were doing.
"It was always the same story β no online presence, no reviews, no way to know if they were any good until your boat was already in their hands. I spent more time trying to find a mechanic than I did on the water."
So he built DockWrench β the platform every boat owner always wished existed. Starting in Charleston, SC.
Charleston, SC is one of the most active boating communities on the East Coast β thousands of boats, dozens of marinas, and a waterway that runs year-round. It's where DockWrench was born, and where we're proving the model before expanding nationwide. If you're a marine tech in the Lowcountry, this is your moment to be first.
Clear profiles, direct booking, and no commissions on jobs.
Free for boat owners. Flat rate for mechanics. No commissions. No surprises.
We don't do home repair or lawn care. We do boats. That's it.
Starting in Charleston and expanding market by market. Real relationships, not just listings.

DockWrench connects boat owners with marine technicians. We facilitate discovery and booking requests but are not a party to service agreements and do not employ or warrant any technician's work. A booking request is not confirmed until the technician accepts it. Pricing and payment are arranged directly between the boat owner and the technician.
Technicians write their own profiles. Certifications, services and service areas shown on a profile are listed by the technician, and DockWrench does not independently verify them. Boat owners should confirm any credential that matters to them before booking.
Technicians agree to provide accurate information, respond to booking requests within 24 hours, honor confirmed appointments, keep booking statuses up to date, and comply with all licensing requirements.
Reviews must describe a genuine experience with the technician. We check reviews before publishing and may decline or remove reviews that are fake, abusive or unrelated to the service.
Listing fees billed monthly. No commission on jobs. Cancel anytime.
DockWrench is not liable for the quality or safety of services provided by technicians.
